With over 30 years industry experience in finance and accounting, Larry has held a variety of positions at MetLife in audit, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, treasury management, financial reporting, budgeting, balance sheet management and process improvement. He has first-hand experience directing an Asset/Liability management team for a $26 billion portfolio. Prior to MetLife, Larry worked at Continental Insurance Company after starting his career with KPMG.
As an educator, Larry has designed, led and implemented industry-training programs on Budgeting for Banks, Cash Flow Planning and Forecasting, and Controller as an Operating Officer. At the university level, he has taught courses in Financial Reporting, Money and Markets and Sources of Financing Ventures, Small Business Financial Management and Not-for-Profit Financial Management. He has also presented at numerous industry conferences including the American Accounting Association Annual Meeting, the Deloitte & Kansas University Audit Symposium and the Hitachi JSOX Conference. Among the themes on which he is currently focused is the Triple Bottom Line (People, Planet & Profit), recognizing that sustainability can be a strategic advantage if properly deployed and can bring value to the shareholders, customers and employees.
Larry graduated from Fordham University with a BS in Accounting. He completed a MBA at New York University with a concentration in Finance. Larry is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
